Techer is pretty straight-forward on this server, very similar mindset as playing techer in Alliance calls for.

When you want to play farmer or casher thats when you need to start really thinking. Commie indy is consistently strong on this server, because of the short reset, and it is not all that difficult to play either, you get defence and NW as a byproduct of your income so that helps to protect against theo techer topfeeders for instance. :)

BaDonkaDonks, I can't give you optimal numbers, as I don't have a lot of experience playing techer, but here is a basic overview:

As Theo, Get to about 400-500 farms, and 60-80BPT (depending on your target acreage lets say 15-25k). You want to get your farms built with about half your CS left to build, then build a chunk of CS to generate bushels. You should have a few hundred k bushels that you can sell to fuel conversion.

Convert to labs, some Indies at 100% spies, and start grabbing bots (PS is better). Only tech when you need cash, grab til about turn 900-1000. Always be selling max tech. Stock cheap bushels if you get too much cash on hand.

The less land you have the earlier you need to start your destock, start buying out your private on Sunday, keep teching turns until your expenses get out of hand (around turn 1700ish)

Lots of ways to optimise this, but that basic routine should get you t10 most resets.

I pretty much have that part down pat, its the end game where it falls over for me. Buying on private gets expenses way out of control. Do you consistently sell tech or just when maxed and then save sale for rest at end of set?

Techer is so powerful, to be able to compete with such little land. The bots buying Soo much tech helps too, especially when prices are decent. Also, since they buy frequently that helps you to keep using turns and grow. I have a screenshot of a Republic bot from set before last, 5.2 mil net, 12k land, maxed out Residential tech 180% (651k tech) and 179.7% Business (453k tech). I think bots are overbuying tech, they should probably stop around 172% or so? Also, they don't buy jets (I think this is true?) so it can be harder to sell those quickly. Indy is generally fatter to get higher nets, where techers don't need it. I get that the techer strat shouldn't require as much land as they should be using turns to tech and shouldn't need to just keep growing, but I still think bots might be overbuying tech a bit.

Don't forget also as Indy to run turns you need big sales, which can leave you vulnerable to kids that want to land-trade grab you which just hurts both parties (also, you can't sell what's out on PS).

Yeah commie shoukd be an easy 30m finish just through buying enough tech, grabbing plenty and burning through your units.

Correctly taking advantage of the market gets you to 40-50M

No idea how a commie gets over 50m in express though but I might start playing again to try.

Yes sell tech all reset, but only buy enough military to stay 'safe'. If you have spare cash then buy bushels and store on market until end of set, then sell them ready to jump.

After you do it a few times you get a feel for timing.

You are not teching for your benefit, you are teching to sell the tech to those cashers farmers and indies who would benefit from the tech.

Theo techer has pretty much always been viable in a few servers, at a time. Now for instance its viable in express, tournament, team and sometimes in alliance.

It's especially nice in express because you can also resell military from your PM

I still prefer demo though when playing techer.. as you can resell mil and tech with no commissions

Bots are the countries with weird names - for examples check the top players > prev reset, all those countries in yellow were bots. Bots can be grabbed without fear of retal.

2 or more words as countryname and each starting with capped letter (like Captain Yellowbeard) and a lot defs and no attacks and besides indies spyop shows that no jets.

For one, bots don't attack, so check news; if they've attacked then they're not a bot.

Bots also target 65 BPT fairly early, so generally 240 Construction Sites (except for I and H governments). They may be a little under the number of CS if they've been landgrabbed recently.

They use turns frequently, so assess the Turns Played on the spy op and see if it's near turns given in set at that point.

Weird Names, yea, but people can have them too so only use it as a clue (but some names you'll begin to recognize, like Blackbeard).

Generally built up defense and low to no jets.

Generally large amounts of tech (to the point of excessive).

Bots aren't a detail but a major aspect of the game, as important as turns, units or government type so why isn't it mentioned on the server details page? The amount of times this gets asked clearly it's not obvious to new players.
