Bitcoin still a thing?
BTC not so much but BSV yeah. I wouldn't check main outlets though, people been brainwashed by greed. Bitcoin Core developers broke it badly to try and get everyone to use some Lightning Network junk (and now Liquid). Obvious bait and switch is obvious.
BSV has continued original design, is largely hated by the (late) majority, most likely because everyone bought BTC when it was ~$20,000 and are now deeply underwater. Need some sucker to sell it to so are terrified that BSV is actually scaling Bitcoin like it was supposed to be. I've been a massive advocate for Bitcoin since about 2011 & I've learned a few things along the way :)
So yeah It's still a thing, but it's also still totally unheard of by most. I've since learned that it's way bigger than I ever realised when I first learned about it. (It's like a micropayment fuelled replacement for regular internet once it gets widely adopted, its like pay per byte, and the tx have their own script language inside that can do crazy stuff like contracts, database serve web pages etc, so e.g. google could charge like 1/100,000th cent per search, and still make billions, and drop all advertising...)
That's about 10 years of history with lots of twists and turns distilled into a couple paragraphs, so I might be missing something ;)
