Timing is important for Resource Decay, more so than any other permanent bonus. Delay it a week, 10 days by losing half your bonus pts per day kind of makes the entire set's bonus points applied to that bonus a waste due to market movement in the 2nd half of the set.
That is not the same as, for example, extra turns, from which you benefit immediately.
