Well, I have to say, for an all-x I am seriously impressed. When I played 10 years ago I'd never heard of an all-x techer->mbr. I'd never have thought it possible. I think I have an idea of how to play it now I've given it some thought though.
You're obviously an experienced player but I have to ask, why as a techer->mbr did you have such a low bpt for so long?
The other thing... you didn't seem to research mil tech. Why was that?
Troops and tanks... yeah poor sales which I experienced too. Not my fault you weren't selling so much though. I was only selling serious amounts of them from around 18-Apr-11.
70 bpt attained at 4k acres was the ideal amount to grow out to 16k acres. I was planning on growing out to about 16k to 18k acres, but stopped growing when I decided to AB the two people who had been doing harmful spy ops on me.
I didn't research military tech because last time I played, it was more efficient to sell all of the tech I produced and then to purchase military with that tech, and to use profits from military reselling to purchase military tech a few days later. If tech prices had been over 5k like I expected, and troop and tank demand had been better, I would have had my military tech up to 91% fairly fast.
The main object is to keep your private market bought out, thats more important than having military tech. I could have done a longer tech phase and teched enough to buyout my PM and have excellent military tech, but once you start lengthening the tech phase beyond the short duration I did mine at, it starts to make sense to tech at 4k acres instead of 2k, and once you tech at 4k acres, it almost makes sense to just grow to 10k and tech, etc.
Its not the optimal way to play TTR, but its fun to do it the backwards way just for the novelty of it. Its not that much worse than a normal TTR, but it is inferior. Its just more fun.
