Conclusion:
Increase in turns is 54-56 turns (over 60 days), or almost +1 turn per day, due to the login bonus system. In all these resets, I went Expenses then Booms. Only leftover points on the last day went to Turns.

My play habit:
This set, I checked my country every once in a while manually when I remember to, so maybe once every few hours. Prior sets, I only login every 20 hours due to PS brigades timing. Sometimes more often, due to double selling.

I never took bonus turns

dang, I left a lot of turns on the table. I totally forgot about the logout change until 2 weeks ago - then I just checkied my country every 10 minutes heh =/

Comes out to about 5.6m extra NW I could have had if I reached 2300.

PHEW almost lost NW cuz my tech sold at the end.

No idea blid.. I was really only playing once every 20ish hrs for 6 weeks so I think that's where I lost my turns.. sad, I coulda finished 2nd or 3rd if I had gotten those extra turns!

What do you guys make of this, conventional wisdom has been to keep grabbing for a really long time, but eManny stopped early and ran away with it.

Yes, I've always stopped grabbing earlier but to be honest this round I probably stopped 1 attack short of optimal :)
The reason is that I'm pretty good at optimizing my finish without just cashing through corruption or loading on tech to avoid corruption and dumping on private market. I won't give away the exact strategy of course but it's all about avoiding corruption by buying the correct number of bushels (which is price dependent).

For myself id like to give a special shoutout to fantastic baby, for the senseless 4000 acre topfeed, farmer, for selling off all his turrets juts to make a retal, and yolo, for taking a 30 day old 'retal' with 2 days left in the set. oh, and qzjul, for the 3000 acres i lost to earthquakes. /whine

I'm very happy to finish 5th with such a trash food reset. Food rose above $40 a week too late, tech rebounded after oldman switched to TMBR while food fell $5 as oldman dumped food to clear his PM instead of stocking. (Thought I'll finish 4th because LATC's finish looked like it would be ~110m - I spied it 8 days ago).

o yea i fuked myself big time on tech. i had nice early/mid game tech level, but then when i had been buying tech for $1800 and suddenly it was back to $2100 i didnt want to buy it anymore, expecting prices to drop again soon, and they never did, and i ended up being at like 146% with a 7-10 days left in the reset and STILL having to spend ~$2200 to go to a measley 157.5%

so now who..... who played what the dell.

I was forced to leave 12 turns in storage at the end. Lol. That food market last night made me store turns, then got no sales until too late today. Couldn't get them back.

I'm not sure if I missed any earlier blid. I did stop playing completely for 4 days while on vacation at a cabin with no cell service. Didn't even log in for bonus's or anything, so may have lost a couple of turns there, not much if any though. It more put me behind a few days in grabbing and lost bonus points/turns of course.

I was expecting to see someone ruining sets or something, he had 40m jets with 1.45% weapons.

Heh Xin I put in a $501 order for every tech and sold tech I had at market price. I'm amazed how many ppl just dump tech at SO prices (actually military too). Also dumped 1m spies right around that time to cash more.

What sucked was cashing today's turn w/ $7bln on hand after all my stock sold over night and having to buy $60 food to play turns with ugh.

Lastly, there was 70m bushels at $65 on the market at the end!? Did someone forget to play??

I was able to get all my techs at $1800-$2000 before they rose. I almost didn't buy any tech while it was $2100. Had 239% Agri which slowly declined to 234% before I bought anymore tech again.

Res/Bus was weird. Agri was easily the highest priced tech for the entirety of 2 weeks, but almost nobody was teching it, and res/bus kept selling at 1900 vs the 2200 for Agri. 20% more income to whoever teched Agri.


@LATC Ah so that's where you squeezed a little bit extra NW from! I knew you sold spies because... come on, a Dict with only 10 SPAL? Crest and blid also only had about 11 SPAL. :P

Same with indy tech. I had more bus/res than indy tech for a short while. I ended up buying some indy tech, like, 50k or 100k or something, for $2500, not kidding, with like 10 days left in the set.

as an indy i didn't ever really have stock to steal so spies didn't matter

Do you think its better to just load up on techs one day as opposed to getting more land? I always WANT to do it, but then I always want to have the most land so I just end up grabbing to keep up haha

As an indy, I can understand that since you can just make them too.

LATC, don't have the same problem as me. more land doesn't mean better. "P

You do both. Just do 1-2 less PS, and use that money saved (from not building, buying jets/oil) to tech. Mathematically, not grabbing totally and buying tech is better, but you may miss out on some fat PS opportunities sitting on 1/4, so it's not always a clear cut case of whether it's better.

I made most of my money on wep tech, it seemed like the most consistent seller, I teched very little bus/res which was unusual. Gratz eManny.
