I agree that the bomb banks and espionage suck, but it is different from suiciding in that it benefits the attacker. Unfortunately there isn't much of a way to fight back. So I agree changes need to be made.

Ha! good thing they fixed it, we may have seen excessive loss.

This is an IMMEDIATE CHANGE FOR ALL SERVERS:

1) Special Attacks will be capped to 5x their previous levels (thier unmodified losses), to prevent excessive losses; this should help the CS problem; it may stretch KR's in special circumstances, but not normal circumstances.

That is correct, I have had to sell turrets on private market to allow this, and I have had real life issues come up so that I have overflowed turns. I dont think playing delayed is the best way to go.

I don't think there is a perfect answer. I tend to play delayed. In Primary I almost all set I log out so that next time I log in I will be at 86 (80) without having lost a turn. This is dangerous and probably not best practice though. I like the flexibility of being able to play more turns when prices are rising and fewer turns when they are falling.

I was thinking about the Oil changes. It completely destroys the legitimacy of an oiler. Everyone will just build their own rigs.

An indy prodcues 1.35*1.55 = 209% that of a non indy.
A casher produces 1.75*1.75 = 306% more cash than a non-casher.
A farmer produces 225% more food than a non-farmer.
An oiler now produces 150% more oil than a non-oiler.

Where is the weakest link? Yes the supply/demand ratio was such that the server could only handle one or two oilers, but the demand side should have been adjusted - not the supply side.

Prices will need to average around $225 to equalize the production value of an oiler (same revenue as farms at $43).

They should increase next set...we will see how much.

If I could make a few suggestions.

1) Specialize your buildings. If you are going to be researching, you don't need enterprise zones, residences, military bases, farms or oil rigs.
2) Sell some of your tech every day on the public market to fund your growth and military.
3) Typically you will want a BPT of 50 or higher. So build more construction sites.
4) Only research technologies that sell for the highest price. Typically bus/res/industrial/weapons/agri/military are the ones to focus on.

AndrewMose Game profile

You want to specialize. Focus all of your buildings as oil rigs and convert your government to a fascist. Sell oil on the market to fund your military and building growth.

A couple of pointers.

1) Buy a lot of technology on the public market. At this point buy business and residential techs with all the available cash you have.
2) Try to specialize your buildings. With your current government choice and land structure I would rebuild all of your farms as enterprise zones and then continue to build all future land as enterprise zones and residences in a 50/50 ratio. This will make you into a "casher"

Ideally you would want <10% of your land to be industrial complexes unless you were a communist. But I don't know if I would destroy those buildings you already have just yet (maybe when your done exploring/growing).

I don't think anyone will argue that it is everyones right to make the decisions that will help their country the most...topfeeding, bottomfeeding, all-explore...everyone has a right to do what they think is best for their country.

But if someone with more land and a bigger economy is attacked for 10k acres by someone with less land and a smaller economy...by the above logic they should have the right to buy up as much military as they can afford to take back as much land as they want.

Just because they don't have the military at the time doesn't mean they aren't a days worth of turns from being able to do whatever they want with whoever has attacked them.

I don't have a problem with anything you guys have said...but I constantly find countries that I CAN topfeed but choose not to because I believe that I won't be able to hold the land I take. I guess what I am saying is power is not always defined by the current military holdings of a country.

In my opinion harmful ops should not have 0% chance of success if the attacker has less SPAL than the defender after the ally and tech adjustments - kindof like attacks (but a wider range of failure chance).

Also I would suggest that intel ops should have 99% chance of success if you have >110% SPAL of the defender. You should still have a <50% chance of success if your SPAL is < the defender but, the possibility of success should approach 0 as your SPAL approaches 0.

Currently it appears that the difference in success rate between a 35 SPAL to 15 SPAL country is negligible on intel and damage ops. But for a 50k country that is 1M spies, a substantial expense and food upkeep by anybodies standards.

1,000 buildings destroyed per bomb structures, compared to 2780 buildings per CM. Considering a CM takes 2 turns to attack and at best can only be acquired once every 50 turns (if you are teched in warfare), I would say bomb structures not only replaces the need for tanks but it even surpasses the effectiveness of warefare tech it seems.

its not a perfect equation but if you look at the NW that Narcissistic dropped and divide by $35NW/building it comes up to about 30,000k total buildings destroyed. After Narcissistic fights back the turret/jet supply will have diminished by up to 60k buildings. That could change things a couple days from now.

"First 30k buildings destroyed. "

That means that 20k buildings were destroyed in bomb structures ops. That is unbelievably powerful.

This old country didn't exactly obey the rules of GDI. Retals and ROR's are and will always be part of Primary. As will the missiles that sometimes follow. But sometimes a great set is worth the risk of those missiles I guess.

It is hard to take the time to pick 16+ targets a day. If you can grab without getting retaled it is by far the best growth mechanism. It is also hard to keep from making enemies because out of your 16 targets 2 or more are likely to be from the same player.

I can grab as much as I want on Primary and express, I don't feel like I need to take those risks on this server.

also if I can add something. A C/I gains comparatively little from tech (a max of 160% production, compared to 230% and 324% for agriculture and business).

Skipping some tech points early on and building acres a bit faster may even be a better strategy if indy tech was $2500.

It is true that the only usable Permanent Bonus is GDI...but the lack of permanent bonuses don't hurt the server in my opinion.

It is good that there are differences between servers so that you cannot use the same strategy on tournament as express. For instance a C/I destock on express must be done without the expense bonus. If the expense bonus was available in any meaningful quantities it would elevate C/I scores significantly higher.

Similarly there is not much of a bushel peak in express. This is because taking corruption for 350 turns or so is often superior to stocking food. So the market wouldn't reward a decay bonus either.

I doubt stocks will ever be large enough to justify a PM regen bonus of any amount or land great enough to justify build costs.

This leaves only luck and expenses as usable. If I could get luck to 4 or 5% before playing turns, I could probably make $30M all explore. If a C/I could get expenses to 10% by end of set he could probably make $40M routinely. I don't think we want either scenario.

One thing that may actually hurt cashers is that there aren't many midfeed targets that are cashers like in previous sets. It's not that big of a deal just some extra destroying and rebuilding.

But I agree with Bobby that this is the best Casher set we have seen and if the top two finish well there could be records. They both seem to be in line or ahead of Oldman's casher from a couple of sets ago.

1)Perfectz
2)Laughter
3)Narcissistic

Express will quickly become farmland if the DR is less then 6 hrs. A strong player can target a weak player that only logs in once a day and farm him 5 times every time he exits DR. By the time he logs in he wont even be able to effectively suicide to retal.

A bottomfeed takes about 3% of land before DR. 3% x 15 is too much land to lose in a 24 hour window.

I think the explore gains added 2M NW to my score. This was a good casher set and very well played by a few of us that end up in the top 5 frequently. I don't think you can look at this round and say that the changes are broken on solo servers.

I do think that for the shorter rounds like Team, Tournament and Express, the All explore bump will be substantial. Especially on tournament where you can't really bottomfeed. But I don't know if casher was improved any more then Indy or Farmer. All explore Techer is still probably not a good idea.
