Yep. Sui is not wrong. I could buy an unliscensed AR-15 on silk road or something right now if I wanted. I'm all for closing the gun show loophole but whether these guns were semi-automatic or full auto, it's been at least noted to this point that they were obtained illegally. Which, given the scope of things that can be purchased illegally online, any person in essentially any country could more than likely find a way to obtain weapons of they decide to be a psycho.
People who are licensed gun owners in america, like myself, are hardly ever the ones who fly off the rails like this. Responsible gun ownership by responsible gun owners is not really the culprit here. Hell, they ship from Russia on agora market. And when one website closes another pops up. Putting restrictions on the guns that licensed gun owners get is not going to solve the problem, it's more likely just going to aggravate it. Gun violence in america is traditionally lower in "open carry" states. Even psychopaths are smart enough not to point a .45 in the face of a man with a desert eagle on his hip.
Since the illegal acquisition of firearms will always be a possibility, and as we've seen in repeated shootings now a very easy thing. I find it wise to keep the people who obtained their weapon through the right process armed. Perhaps then we will have a chance to stop a thing like this.
Prayers out to those who've lost and to those that have suffered. It's an unimaginable thing.
