There is a group of Palestinian Christians that sell amazing olive wood carvings to try to get there family out. We have one of st Patrick, one of Mary and one of Jesus. They are expensive, but as religious icons go they are pretty awesome. The olive wood is solid, stays moist, and has good color. The artistry of the carvings is amazing. There are literally thousands of lines on each figure, and in the case of "flowing robes" maybe over ten thousand.

Apropos of nothing really, but the carvings are awesome.
