Did a rep casher -> demo destock with a killer eos resell. That will always be a legendary finish in my eyes, along with the time he broke $100m nw with allx commie and $200m nw with a grabbing commie.

I'm an all-x farmer, but I've also lost over 200 turns and haven't picked up more than 3 bonuses all set, so I think I am out of the running. :P

Ohhh fluff! I finally get challenged, and I am out at work on a dry well site. Can't drink until I am done this project, probably in about 3 weeks, so I must ask for an extension. :P

I don't think the purpose is to stop landtrading, so much as it is to make it less powerful.

Also, to the earlier questions on ghost acres % for dict: Dict's get a 33% bonus to the 43% ghost acres that other govs get. 0.43*1.33 = 0.5719, so Dict's get 57.19% ghost acres, compared to other governments 43%.

Easy way to calc units to be sent to gain max ghost acres:

0.068*(0.5719 for Dict, 0.43 for others)*(1 for SS, 1.5 for PS)*(1.2 for Tyr, 1 for others)*MStrat%*DefendersLand*YourLand/20

In practice, the amount of units you need to send will be slightly lower than this due to the defender having CS and possibly unbuilt acres, and due to NW not being matched to exactly 95%, but it's a quick calc to be sure that you are sending enough units to guarantee full ghost acres.

Vamps is a badass, understandable that you'd want him back :P

Well, for what it's worth, I don't think LaF are doing any buyouts, though they might be profiting from them a bit as a result of putting up blocks (which is just good play, really).

As far as me being fluff... Well, I definitely have alot of room for improvement. ;)

I'm pretty happy with my finishes though, especially since I am one of the newest players in the game compared to all you old fogies. I've been here a mere 4 years! =P

Objectively, if you analyzed and compared our specific skills, there is definitely a good possibility that SS is a better player than I am (Regardless, he's a damn good player, and definitely has way more experience than I do in a variety of strats, though perhaps his attitude could use some improvement.)

My main advantage I think is that I am always looking for ways to improve at anything I do, and have enough humility to know that there is always room for improvement. It's an attitude that has served me well, and I would recommend it to anyone. =)

Unfortunately the comment about wind farms causing us to run out of wind is actually a -real- comment made by US Republican Congressman Joe Barton, who is the Chairman Emeritus of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

I clicked on an old tab that was previously showing the alliance advisor page. I clicked nothing on the page except for "Portal", at which point it asked me to answer a capcha. When the capcha was answered, it logged me into alliance and put me right back on the Alliance Advisor page, now logged in, and wasted 11 hours of bonus (I was one hour from 12 hour login bonus). Definitely seems like a bug. Clicking on portal should not relog you into an old tab. =/

Chance to break is a gaussian, where at the exact break you only have a 50% chance of breaking. Even 10% oversend still has about a .3% chance of failure I believe. DHing with an 8% oversend is unlucky, but definitely easily possible. =(

So, if I hadn't screwed up my destock horribly, I would have just edged out Vincey's country for the #1 spot, or if not, it would have been my country pushed out of #1. Would this conflict still exist if the FA business hadn't been over the #1 spot?

It just occurred to me that in a roundabout way, my screwing up my destock may have caused this war. :P

Well, I definitely wasn't FA'd. My country is public too, so at the end of set I believe my news feed will be readable to anyone who wants to confirm that. I don't think anyone seriously thinks I was FA'd though; my finish will actually fall about 35m nw short of where it should have due to blunders I made right before my destock.

You guys are silly, lol. In a set where landtrading was ubiquitous, where every single person in the top 10 got there by landtrading, are you seriously claiming that landtrading is FA? Perhaps I am not interpreting correctly?

I can definitely take credit (or blame if you prefer? lol) for these end of set trades. I thought it was an interesting and novel way of shortening the normally required destock time, and highlighted a so far largely unused method of getting that little extra bit out of a country. The funny thing is, when you account for the extra costs due to needing more military tech, these 5 trades are better than break even, but not much more. The extra acres give you a faster destock, and thus a bit of extra stocking time, but between the military costs, the loss of buildings, and the significantly larger amount of military tech required, it's a gain of maybe 5-7m nw compared to not doing it. Also, rather amusingly, I was so focused/distracted/tired while planning this and the rest of my destock that I made 2 huge blunders in consecutive logins, first by accidentally selling my entire stockpile at $39, and next by buying out my pm while still mon. If you really find these trades as so horrible, at least there is some schadenfreude for you to enjoy. :P

Myself, I would love to see enough countries and untags on the server that bottom feeding became seriously viable again (perhaps with the introduction of ai bots?), but I strongly disagree that landtrading is some sort of evil scourge that ruins the server. That particular honor falls to cheaters and power bloc politics in my view.

When landtrading, people interact with each other, people socialize, they meet members of other clans and, in my experience, they often make friends with them and develop mutual respect. In these ways, landtrading is -very good- for the game. It is fun, it is sociable, it's often good for developing relations with other clans...Nope, I don't buy your arguments that it is some sort of disgusting/lame way to play the game.

What would your ideal have? No ghost acres, just people bottom feeding targets or allxing to gain land? To reverse your question, how is bottom feeding good for the game?

11:10 ez to res is generally pretty close to optimal. When food prices get high an even slightly higher ratio of ez:res is better, but 11:10 is a pretty good ratio in general

...playing Europa Universalis 4. I've somehow managed to accumulate 80 hours of playtime in it over the last 4 weeks. It doesn't sound like much in itself, but I've also been in the field working 12 hours shifts 7 days a week for the last 4 weeks, so pretty much every single moment of downtime I have has been spent playing this game, haha.

Havoc, you are giving me flashbacks of trying to use my adam colecovision and it's 300 baud modem to try to connect to bbs games when I was 6-7 years old, haha. I think in the early days of earth when it was on a bbs ( i think it started on a bbs anyhow?), your colecovision would have worked rather reasonably.

As to the initial question, definitely pc. =P

If you are set on a console though, and are primarily going to be using it for media and occasionally COD, xb1 is probably the way to go. I personally prefer the ps4 for a variety of reasons, but it sucks as a home media centre compared to the xb1.
