Actually, that scumbag TAN is the only one who I've ever joined for drinks on his time. And I felt so dirty I had to wear gloves.
More seriously, though, we left lots of alliances open this set, and when it came down to it, nearly all of the actual conflicts centered around PDM. We were able to resolve most of them at the FA level (and actually, we continued to pay reps on one of them all the way up till the FS--and we'll finish up the reps on that particular incident once this war is over), but the overall frustration eventually hit a boiling point, both among general membership and some of our leaders. That's why PDM.
Admittedly, we didn't take your recent war history into consideration. We've had our heads in the sand for the last few sets. We opted to stay out of (either side! of) the grudge wars because we believe those kinds of wars aren't good for the game, and we felt that LCN's entry would imbalance either side too much. And nobody likes an unfair fight. Present company included--as I said before, lots of alliances are unpacted, so you do have options.
