you don't really want me (even if I wasn't moderating FFAT and could play it) since I can barely keep one country active much less 15:P

Probably the first LAE deletions yesterday were done by me based on completely different evidence before any of this came up. Of course I am more than willing to discuss this with those account owners in private (or they can talk to pang or a game admin).

In all honesty I didn't even pay attention to the tag since that doesn't really matter. I really hate deleting posts on forums much less countries from the game but as has already been mentioned fair play is paramount.

In fact this has been discussed. I think most moderators have agreed to stop playing voluntarily for the very concerns that tan mentioned.

yeah@the ghost acres it was actually a game bug.

I don't think Spawn was in any way implying that those two were cheating. They would be deleted by now if the alliance moderators or admins actually thought there was cheating going on.

It's not against the game rules and it's not a bug exploit.

I agree 100% with pang, carrying issues across servers most of the time is rather silly.

this is the situation where things get dicey.

Alliance 1 and alliance 2 are at war.
alliance 3 decides to hit alliance 1 for whatever the reason (maybe at the request of alliance 2 or maybe just because). Alliance 3 is much smaller than alliance 1.

Reset ends with alliance 1 getting tag killed.

The following set alliance 1 decides to take it out on alliance 3 because alliance 3 decided to participate in their war. Alliance 3 gets upset because alliance 1 is significantly larger than them.

I've seen this scenario played politically multiple times with a whole variety of combinations. Is alliance 1 in the right to hit alliance 3 or not?

When I lead SoF I openly admit we were not consistent in how we dealt with that situation. Sometimes we would wait a couple of sets and then beat the tar out of alliance 3, sometimes we would just let it go. In other cases we would talk to alliance 3 and get some other favor out of them in return.

There is no easy answer to this but I think this situation is clearly different than hitting a smaller tag out of the blue for no reason. You get involved with a tag already at war you have to expect that there are going to be repercussions to you down the line.

Rats: afaik there is no former IX leadership running sol. Based on my observations sol is not at all doing what IX was trying to do.

Oddly enough I think there are former IXers in collab and evo (not sure about evo). Not that it really matters anyway.

the last time I had any suspicions that evo ran multies was more than 3 years ago. As much as I never saw eye to eye with evo, I never had reason to believe they were breaking game rules.

You know what's really funny about this is that I had long drawn out arguments along similar lines with sol and TIE for many years, only they actually were far more proactive about it.

And Nukeevil: That speech sounds dangerously like ones I read back in 2003 when people cheered as SoF got botted off the server. Just an observation.

And Slagpit: SoF/SoL have ambitions and standards.. they just aren't Evo's ambitions/standards. Difference of opinion. Some folks like to play sim city, others like to play WW3.

actually sof leaving the server in 2003 was a huge trigger point.
