I would like to make a petition for M4D to share their warbot with the rest of the community. Here is my rationale.


Leto claims he wants to improve the game, and bring more players to the game.


Current warbots rely on IRC to function, have some bugs/lag problems.

Most players use/prefer Discord to IRC, but are required to keep IRC around due to warbot functionality. Rumor is that M4D's new warbot is less buggy, works mostly through discord, and works faster. This would be a great benefit to all in the community if they had access to it.



All other clans share their tools for free with the community. Mercs even shared their warbot with me and helped me get setup when I was warring them in team, going out of their way to help. Gains shares the EEstats site with the entire community for free. The precedent is that all tools that can benefit the community should be shared with the entire community, for free. Tools existing to benefit only one alliance gives an unfair advantage, and is to the detriment to the community as a whole.



Given all of that, Leto, will you share your tools with the rest of the community, please? I know we would all appreciate it.

When I warred bhole 2 years ago, I wanted him to be competitive.

So I snuck into his discord under a fake alias and tried to set him with the same tools we were using to war him. I showed him how to do a killrun, his first warchat was a success. Ask milkman, he was there too.

Gerdler blew my cover. If he didn’t, I would’ve kept helping him.

I didn’t like the guy but I respected the activity and fun he brings to the game.

It was a huge help to us, too. I learned how to properly do kill runs, and use warbots. It enabled myself and quite a few other players to continue to play and enjoy the game. I will forever be grateful to you and DD for doing the work to not just share the tools, but actually set them up for us and show me how to use them.

In another thread, Mercs is being accused of being bad for the game, and running players out of the game. While they are the ones who have gone out of their way to help even their enemies.

But the PDM/M4D alliance, that is all about community and bringing people into the game, is refusing to share tools that could help the community.

Why are you pretending that MD didn’t make a war bot? Lots of people know about it. Hell Leto even talked to me about it when he offered me a chance to join lights a few days ago after I left (was booted by Coalie) darkness and joined another team.

Oh no, I don't want the bot. I've actually advocated for removing all bots from the game. But, I just figured, given that M4D and Leto have it as a public mission to improve the community and the game, that this is one way they could do that.


A bot that decreases reliance upon an ancient technology and allows people to only use one tool to communicate instead of two, would be a nice QoL improvement. I'm sure everyone would enjoy ditching IRC if it was possible. It also makes the game more accessible for new players. We always talk about bringing people into the game, and if we want to bring anyone into the game that's in the 20's or younger, ditching IRC would be helpful. I doubt a lot of young people have ever even heard of IRC, let alone how to access servers, etc.




Basically, I just thought I would bring it to Leto's attention that this is actually one way he can help the community. Again, this is something he has been very open about wanting to do. Maybe he doesn't realize this would be such a big help and make the game more accessible for others.




If M4D doesn't want to, obviously they don't have to. They spent the time making it, and it is theirs. But this community has always thrived because of the members here, and their desire to help everyone, not themselves.

Third - Yep. I cheated. To my knowledge, this game has a long history of cheating. When I realized the problems I came clean though, no? I'm pretty sure lots of clasn have former cheaters in it too. I think we all decided we are giving second chances and all that. That's some old water under the bridge, I suppose it's an effective line of attack on me though. Kudos to you, I'll give you a point there.
