TBH I haven't played since approximately 2002. Maybe one reset sometime between 2002-2006 but I'm not so sure. I used to go by MAZ or maybe MAZZ (there's a different guy who took the name Maz around 2010). I just joined for fun cuz I'm bored at work and thought of this game. I see there's less than 500 countries and the alliances are all empty. For all I know that might have happened ten years ago.

I'm sure nobody remembers me but I played in the following alliances: TALON, Phoenix, Veni Vidi Vici (vVv), and Divine Justice. I also did a set or two in RAGE and MD but I don't remember if I was legit or spying on them :)

There is a debate about when this game died. Some people think it was when mehul closed it. This being a replica of earth2025. However, I believe it died well before that. We may have had more players, but the ratio of bots and multies to real players is probably the same as it is now.

So when did it die.....When most of us became adults, found real jobs, had sex for the first time, the multitude of online games came out, or when readily available porn became available? Who knows really. But from the looks of this forum, it was LaF's fault whatever it was.

I encourage you to make a country and try to restore some of the friendships that you developed when you played.
Who knows where that will lead.

What's unique about this experience of a game is how it was always people driven with connections built around the world. Some people could give two shots about messaging someone in Australia, Mexico, Deutschland or South Africa; but that's what made this experience great.

It won't die if we don't let it, yes it's not what it was and yes its declining. I actually see us slowing clawing our way back.

I completely agree with this. 6 mexicans joined up a set ago after 20 years and it's been hella fun.

Sure, there are many games out there to include chess, checkers, and other board games. A huge amount of games over the years bought on CDs and the internet. Hell, even the card game of solitaire is still beng played by some folks around the world.

I will probably die before this game dies. Even if it is just me and the bots, I am riding this bus straight to hell.
For the bored and the butthurt, you might quit but the game lives on.
I have thought about leaving over the years, but I keep getting pulled back in. I am an EE addict.

I remember that wazmo archive. I found it at some point after I quit. Also the original AT on the wayback machine doesn't work except to see the titles of a few posts. If you click the post it either says it's not archived or it takes you to a totally unrelated post that was archived.
