We've run into a few problems recently with a couple of the major e-mail providers. It would seem that we send out enough e-mails that they're now concerned that we're spam. As a result, not all e-mails are getting through.
We're trying to address the issue, but it may take some time. The major e-mail providers are not easy to deal with.
Until it is dealt with, the admins may also be scaling back the volume of e-mails being sent as a whole in an effort to ensure that critical e-mails (like activation e-mails) are not blocked by e-mail providers.
