You can't just make a history of landtrading etc. disappear. I'm always more inclined to pick out RD because you guys do this crap every set.

And by history I'm referring to EE, not when you botted guys and stuff.

Hey, all I have to say is that this is probably my fourth semi-legitimate netting set in ~4 years playing, and I managed to achieve $50m better than my previous best.

I don't expect to stay t10 through the end of the set, but damn it's been surprising to be there at all :P

I think its a fair question to ask and not trolling; Does this LT/Highrock Hybrid only count in sets where you have free reign over farming PDM while your buddies kill them with a nice topping of an RD buddy and a LaF buddy to grab 10k acres off later?

i didnt even realize this was a flame thread but since my name somehow got brought up i just want to say one thing:

don't include me in conversations with "elite" netters. not when i havent done anything in the last 8 years to deserve such credit. there is no "top" laf netter who half-asses every netting set worse than me. I have taken a handful of countries that *should* have finished in the 200m++ nw range and finished a mere 150-160 out of pure laziness. I typically only try hard enough to be a decent tech ally then just laze it up.

The only set I put half an effort into in the last 8 years was the one where i finished second like 2 or 3 sets ago. The only reason I even half tried was to troll xin, then realized that ss made an error in stocking and decided i would make him earn the win as well.

the fact i happened to finish t10 with half-assed countries is merely a reflection of how poor the competition for t10 is. but as far as "elite" netters go I don't think we have any that can compare to the days of old so why bother? you guys are arguing over who the "smartest" retard is. Guess what, at the end of the day you're still a retard.

I find it amusing that apparently all of the "genius" netters of old never developed skills that elevated their whole clans. They could only do well in their own countries. Now why would that be?

Do you mean that they didn't help their alliance at all? :S Didn't all clans share info and strats etc? Or do you refer to a greater elevation?

Rumor has it pang has a country that was recorded as finishing t10. Rumor also has it that I taught him in that set. Considering how inept pang actually is at netting I don't know if I want to take any credit in that blunder. Then again, I guess I don't like to take credit for other people who finish well. But that's just me.

Well done, you totally missed the point. You look down on players who try hard today while simultaneously praising your fallen heroes who won because they spent eight hours a day playing this game, benefited directly or indirectly from cheating, or got lucky.

Here's a question for you, who is the better player: someone who spends the minimum amount of time playing the game and gets 175 M NW with an all-X or someone who grabs for eight hours a day and gets 176 M NW? You can make an argument for either player. However, if the question is who is the "smartest retard", the answer to that is pretty obvious to me.

I'd say it's the dude who spents 6 hours a day and gets 300m+ NW
