no, there are many legitimate, non-edgy reasons to not think people are just heroes by virtue of simply signing up for the military, and to be annoyed by the way people fawn over them as if they are. the fact that just saying "i wouldnt call this guy a hero" after someone else calls him a hero strikes you as being "edgy" pretty much says it all, and shows, sadly, that you've been terminally infected with liberalism.

If you read the NY Post article in the original post you'll see that the paper doesn't call the soldier a hero, they call the dog the hero. It's about getting the soldier's hero dog back.
