intermittently being taken away from earthempires website and redirected to website with red screen that says - phishing attack potentially ahead ...
happens both in game and in forums.
not happening to any other websites for me

I had that happen to me month or two ago. Only from trying to do actions ingame of EE, no other websites. I asked in irc if anyone else was having trouble at the time, no one was. Updating my anitvirus and running scans resolved the issue, followed up with going back to latest restore point.

Your tabs are probably pointed at different urls. Close one and open a new tab from the other and it should be fine.

Actually, I seem to have been redirected at least twice from boxcar to some kind of page for brain supplements. Possibly related? I dunno if the ads are different, but I seem to remember they're both Google.

If you google lemode-mgz.com you will see this is all over the web.

I visit few websites and don't have it. So I suspect those that do have picked it up elsewhere than on EE.

It isn't in the EE code is what he was saying. It is a rogue ad that is doing it with whatever ad service they are using. Someone said google ads? I dunno. Qz didnt code it in his game, its an Ad that is redirecting.

Disable javascripts etc...

It's a banner ad from Google. Whenever it randomly pops up, CHROME's exploit directs you to the site.

It's not really an exploit, just a cleverly crafted redirect designed to get past Google's filters which are supposed to stop this kind of stuff. I've been clear of redirects for over 24 hours so I suspect that Google has fixed this for now.

So, did this issue resurface for anybody else today? Did for me, after a couple days of no problems.

It was super aggressive today... redirecting from Earth Empires to one of those phishing sites on one out of about every 4 clicks. Once it even sat on an EE page for a couple minutes, then redirected.

I've got, have updated, and scanned with malwarebytes... finds nothing. Kaspersky finds nothing.. Tried some of those manual removal suggestions from various websites.. no dice. The files they suggest to remove are nowhere to be found on either of my computers.

Finally just installed adblock on both PCs. I resisted for a couple decades because I want the people who create websites I enjoy to make a little money off them. Hopefully google figures out how to stop these jackasses soon.

I know, qz... That's why I'm hoping google figures out how to shut these jerks down soon, so that I can turn adblock back off and start providing you with revenue again :)
