I ran a terrible country this round. So much running from retals and not getting tech up. I had to put off buying tech so long Retal running that I never ended up getting tech levels where I wanted them. I even had acres left unconverted. :-/

I definitely got reminded of the balance of land/tech this round. And how important proper bottom feeding is.

Bobby, I'm not a fan of O-leeching where one guy doesn't attack at all the entire reset but has tons of jets on hand, but I'm ok with using an O-ally from time to time to do a retal on a bigger guy. Sometimes you just need that extra firepower. I've O-allied w/ someone before because we both needed to do a big retal so I don't really think that's O-leeching.

As for tech leeching, I'm indifferent as it doesn't hurt anyone else directly. If I'm providing a D ally for someone smaller and he offers me free tech, why not? Or if I did a tech phase start and just didn't bother cancelling the research pacts after - it's not like I'm forcing anyone to stay allied with me. If my tech allies realize I'm not teching then they just cancel the pact.

You can list off these scenarios where it wouldn't be that bad, but the fact is it's extremely vulnerable to abuse, and they add very little to the game.

So another all 100m+ top 10. Looking at eestats thats only been the case the last couple resets. Also I doubt I'll finish top 25 with my 59m nw and that would make this set the first one where that nw won't be good enough for top 25.
This is only my second primary set but it looks like the competition has been getting tougher and tougher over time? Which is a good thing I guess :)

Yeah I think more good players have been coming over and enjoying it, plus play has advanced slightly :)

I don't know about advanced, I had put up SOs to buy turrets for $535, I thought I clicked tanks so yeah, a microcosm of my set.

Bah fluffed up. Ran out of money and food have turns on hand and had 8 Indy booms not being used. I tried but hard when training and trying to run numbers on a phone.

I accidently just sold 35mil tanks instead of 35mil bushels. Ugh. Won't be placing top 10 this set.

I sold a ton of spies to fund my Indy booms. It worked and I made a few more mil but such a good set for such a disappointing finish.

Interesting to see farmer take #1 and #2 spot but after that there's no farmer to be seen? Am I farmer #3 at rank 26? lol.
It's funny that this was actually a hard reset for farmers, the biggest challenge seemed to get through the first month unscathed which apparently only 2 managed to do.

Trouble keeping up the first month is pretty much the norm for farmers. This was obviously a way above average set for farmers... The reason why there's only two in the top 25 is the same reason why food was so expensive and they were able to place so high. :)

Its not easy to position yourself at rank 11. You have to estimate what the t10 cut off will be and you have to get yourself 5-6m nw lower than that just incase someone in the t10 screwed theirs up.

Anyway, I screwed up mine. lol

I just want to say 'thank you' to the techers who dumped their food 2 days or so earlier than expected. Heh, that prevented me from setting an all time NW record. That 2 or so days would have made a huge difference to my finishing NW. But then again, screwing up others' finish is also one strategy to win, so kudos :)
