Is there such a thing as a boring war? I guess ICN's came close as it was 2 on 1... but I enjoy being on either side of a gang bang every now and then.

If PDM shows NA that it's just not worth trying to enforce a 72 hour policy that would be great. I think PDM can afford war more easily than NA since they already went to war with Fist and thus don't have a netgaining race to lose...

A 48 hour policy is much better than 72 hours. I"d even support a 24 hour policy personally, maybe with 48 hours for self-retals allowed.

Indeed readiness used to be different, and yes this was like 10 to 12 years ago :) Back then there was conditionning tech which could boost readiness regain by up to 200% though, so this added an interesting aspect to war preparation.

Removing this also further increased farming of small countries since it was now possible to do 30 landgrabs a day...

My problems were all using Chrome.

It didn't do that before and given others have that problem with other browsers, it must be a server problem.

I would guess it might be a cache problem, perhaps the browser feels the need to re-fetch style sheets or JS files before reloading the cached HTML file due to some server configuration or expiry date on the cache. It is also quite likely that it has to do with any advertiser's code or stuff like google statistics in it. I hope you find that bug and squash it!

For the last week or so it feels as if a change in the way pages are loaded messed something up. Basically when I press the BACK button, it doesn't load the new page immediately, as if it was first waiting to connect to a server before even showing a page from my Cache.

Anyone else get that?

It's a pain in the ass to do things like ATTACK, BACK, ATTACK, or the same thing but for teching 1 turn at a time.

No reason not to and it would be awesome as it would allow bragging about landgrab gains even when we forget to copy and paste after the attack :)

-FS are overpowered but only because the game "sped up" and no one updated the mechanics to go with it. 120(120) turns is the problem. You can fix this simply by having special attacks take more turns, or by lowering the amount of turns that can be held at once, say to 90(90). Or by just slowing the game down toward what it was before.

Also ponderer, it's not about the fact that I don't like it personally because if affects me. The problem is it harms the game as a whole to have idiotic features like this that prevent actual competition and are illogical and so easily abusable.

It won't just help netting, it will help warring as well. The point of diminishing returns was to help small countries not be bullied too much. In a war, diminishing returns should not even exist.

What do you guys think? I find it silly, counterintuitive and detrimental to the "create land through landgrabbing" aspect of the game that you can do a bunch of harmless GS to prevent landgrabs on someone.

Actually the feud with Militia X could date from even earlier, as we fought Silver's WAR clan in our first full reset and he didn't like losing to us :) Silver was some sort of recurring villain in our history like you see in cartoons.

How about a 1 vs 1 with ICN next set? That could be good.

How much will money matter for facebook? I really wonder how many players we'll be able to get for each dollar spent. I mean if we get one player per dollar invested in the long run, that might actually be pretty decent given that we probably have at least a dozen vets willing to donate 100$. Or am I kidding myself?

15 to 25 members or so.

I think four out of five got hit pretty badly last set by larger alliances (whether they had it coming or not) so this may be good for the game in terms of keeping smaller clans safe from being FSed too easily or for little things (ie. rage, ely and PDM last set... since I am biased about imagnum :)

I'm on the North America server. Add Beltshumeltz, code 543

I hope to be able to play some of you guys.

The game is AMAZING, both single player and online. The online gameplay is so strategic, you learn something new every single game. It's really good and an better than the other RTS no matter what people say about it not being revolutionary enough.

While I think it's too bad about no LAN and the Internet connection requirement, I somewhat understand it given the state of piracy. Piracy is so widespread it's unbelievable. Sure, they make enough money regardless, but when so many players get a cracked version, you gotta do stuff like this.

The game isn't buggy at all. Yes, it has caused some cards to overheat but you are blaming the wrong culprit if you think it's Blizzard, and I doubt the number is high regardless.

If your video card fries when playing arbitrary code that uses it at its maximum, that is a videocard/motherboard problem even if it's caused by code. Code isn't supposed to break physical hardware, and when it does you should blame the hardware manufacture or the computer builder!

A computer should be able to run its videocard and its maximum power no problem. If it overheats, you can blame Nvidia for making fluffty drivers or the customers for running a 8800GT in a computer with poor ventilation or dusty filters.

Keep in mind that for example, when people overclock their computer, they run stability and temperature tests with CPU programs such as Prime95, or GPU programs that run the card at its maximal capacity to test whether it makes the system unstable or too hot. If you didn't overclock your relatively cold 8800GT and it overheats to the point of physical damage (instead of just crashing), seriously, blame Nvidia and your computer builder. If you built your own machine, invest in better fans next time you make a gaming machine with a high-end videocard.

Given how many million games they sold already, even if you hear of dozens of people losing their videocards, you gotta remember that people who have problems are louder than happy customers, that people make a big deal scandal out of every problem involving a corporation nowadays, so you can assume that it's still a low number and that you will be fine. They will have a patch soon regardless, and the game is NOT buggy overall by any normal definition of the word buggy.

You gotta click DOWNLOAD under the FREE column (the rightmost one).

2 important WARNINGS:

1- You might have trouble uncompressing At-Archive.rar since it has many many files. Winrar was fine on my machine but I got a bazillion gigs of RAM.

2- Beware of unraring this on Windows Vista or Win7 with Indexing enabled! It WILL slow Windows Explorer to a crawl for many things such as creating or opening a folder or right-clicking on a file even if you have a kick ass computer once it indexes those files! It's fun having them indexed since you can go to your start menu and type your nickname to read your own posts... but trust me, it WILL slow your machine to a crawl. Go to your START menu, type in Indexing and use that to exclude the folder you extract the At-Archive to once the novelty of doing search queries wears off.

I also have the Jolt forums and the At-Archives.

It was especially fun having the At-archives unzipped on my computer under Vista/Win7 because I could then really quickly search them for fun stuff. Like my own name and what people said about me :P But Jolt is 100 megs and At-Archive 500 megs and I can't upload that to a free host.

And this is just like I find land trading to be abuse of the mechanics of the game and hate it. The players are half to blame, the admins get the other half for not finding a creative solution. But then I don't have a solution myself, and ghost acres are a necessary evil...

After reviewing the news in action, I now agree with Mr Nike. He grabbed the Fist country and won only 350 acres due to what I find to be rule abuse, so The Fist country got what he deserved for taking in GSes to prevent grabs on him.
