FA packages aren't allowed, warfare and SDI tech are removed, tech leeching is less effective, countries can put goods on the market for up to 60 days, and standing orders were changed to make low price market transfers more difficult. The server isn't designed for players to aid a country to as high of a NW as possible, but of course players are permitted to attempt this if they like.

Extra turns you have to cash to get enough money to grab again benefits one strategy: techer. Because it's turns spent earning are far more productive.

To balance tech with other strategies you need to have a tradeoff between income and growth. But in the rules you implement you need that income to grow, so the tradeoff is gone and it becomes the only playable strat.


If you have a suggestion to make techer more balanced I will consider it. The server isn't live yet so it's not too late to make changes. Perhaps it will help to know that the npc countries on this server will not infinitely buy tech like they do on the Alliance server. They only buy tech at prices that they think will benefit them.

During the round, you can see game profiles for all countries in your clan. You can also see country statuses for countries in your tag if the owner allows it based on privacy options. The links are visible when viewing country ranks for your clan. You can't see statuses for other clans.

I added this to give players an easy way to see how well their clan mates are doing. This feature is only available on the Cooperation server.

We always had a button to show and hide alpha servers but some users couldn't see it. I changed the code so all premium users can see the button on the portal page. I've heard scattered reports that alpha servers don't always show up and I'm hoping that this button resolves the issue. Please post here if alpha servers are incorrectly hidden for you and the toggle button isn't working.

There are a number of things that players can do to mitigate the higher SS cost:

* doing a tech start
* getting offensive allies
* getting medical tech, weapons tech, and mstrat tech
* having your clan get a sufficient number of spy ops
* saving turns
* building cs later than usual
* playing as the right government. dictatorship is the obvious choice to reduce the cost of SS but there are others that are helpful

Your ending networth is entirely up to the choices that you make. I expect elite players to make the right choices to maximize their networth. If anything, I expect this server to be more competitive than Alliance in that highly skilled players are better able to distinguish themselves.

Thanks, this was fairly valuable data. A few comments:

* We used to grab each other back in the old days before NPC countries so it is possible.
* In the current era, I think part of the problem is that there aren't enough countries punishing those who run with very low defense. I personally think the game works better when the player feels a tension between buying enough defense and enough tech. Perhaps making the NPC countries grab will solve this problem.
* It feels pretty hard/annoying to play techer and indy right now because the public market is too slow at times. A single player can easily dominate the market as well. I think I checked a few years back and as a farmer I bought around 33% of all agri tech sold on the market? It was some ridiculous number.
* Changing the culture to one where countries should expect to get grabbed with low defense may make indies easier to play. If we can make the NPC countries good enough then we can increase the number of them to improve public market activity.
* I am starting to like more and more the idea of reducing max turns to 240 (240) or something. Players can hold up to 40% of the round's turns right now without losing any. The current setting of 360 (360) makes retals too unpredictable, can lead to huge spikes in market activity, and makes private market destocking incredibly powerful.

I'm guessing that what you're seeing here is either rainbows which deliberately have bad countries or countries that highly prioritize buying tech instead of military. There are different "buying schedules" now. You can read the NPC code for more details~

You're looking at resets with different turn counts. They got 2900 turns for round 889 but only 1900 turns for round 954. They also didn't get farmed by players the whole round. For round 889, bushels spike so high that some NPC countries end up stocking tech and military instead. If I remember right one or two techers could often destock before the bushel market crashed. That's why https://www.earthempires.com/ai/889/ranks/139 had such a large victory. The market dynamics for some of those rounds were honestly quite educational, though military demand was of course too low to be realistic.

The NPC code has effectively been the same since 2021. Qz only fixed a few small bugs since then.

If someone breaks the rules on discord then you should message a discord moderator if you feel so inclined. It sounds like the messages were already deleted? I understand that you didn't appreciate what was said to you, but how is spreading it around helping? If it was a horribly offensive thing in your eyes then the best thing to do is not to repeat it any further. In any case, I think that you've made your displeasure well known at this point. When a message is deleted then that should generally be the end of it. Otherwise players will bicker endlessly about personal issues.




I can see the disconnect here, so let me clarify.


I'm not terribly hurt by the stupid things cult leader Leto says. When I get under his skin he tends to break character and lash out, saying some pretty terrible things, but I'm not easily offended, so it's ok.


The purpose of repeating it here, as well as mentioning that he supports doxxers, and covered for cheaters, is to continually remind people that Leto isn't the guy he purports to be. He likes to play this 'good guy' persona on the forums and with everyone, but it's so fake and ridiculous. He's overly nice and loving and caring. But again, if you watch closely, it's all an act. Hence the 'cult leader' title I give him.

So the reason I keep mentioning what he said about my wife isn't because I'm that hurt over him slandering my wife. It's because I want people to know that Leto is actually kinda a fluffty person, not a really good upstanding individual he claims.



And Ko - I know I sound like a broken record. I'm sorry bro, it's necessary though. For instance, Tan didn't know about any of this stuff prior to me repeating it all on the forums this time. I gotta keep putting the info out there to make sure it disseminates fully.


That is not the purpose of these forums. It doesn't matter if someone is a good or bad person. Keep it related to the game. If you want to accuse his alliance of having multies, great, go for it. It's also fine to mock his alliance for having a low average networth, poorly run countries, a poor war performance, or for other game-related reasons. But stop with the personal attacks.

GDI currently prevents tech stealing. Countries can get hit and not be able to retal due to the humanitarians range restriction. That's part of the reason why I'm considering a mechanic like this.

Much of this will be listed in server details or inside the game itself but I thought it would be helpful to have everything in one place.

On this server, it is not possible to attack or to perform harmful spy ops on player countries. Countries will start with 180 turns, will gain 1 turn every 24 minutes, and can hold a maximum of 240 (480) turns. Each reset will last about 2 months.

This game server will have a number of special rules:

* Players cannot spend turns if they are untagged.
* Players cannot leave a tag after joining.

* A tech point is worth 4 NW instead of 2 NW.
* Base military expenses for jets are $0.20.
* The networth component formula for military expenses = 1. Military expenses per unit do not change with NW.
* Standing orders will be changed to make them more fair and to make market transfers more difficult.
* The warfare and SDI technologies will not be present.
* Government switches will not remove bonuses.
* Users will be able to specify how long goods remain on the public market.

* Countries cannot drop acres.
* Only SS and PS attacks are permitted.
* A country can only PS up to twice every calendar day. A country can still do SS attacks if it has done its daily PSes. It works in the same way as the spy op refresh system.
* Base attacking military losses for SS are 98%.
* The Dictatorship government loses 50% less units when attacking.
* The maximum standard benefit of medical tech is 50%.
* Medical tech reduces military losses from attacking.
* The minimum acres per grab is 1 instead of 5-20.
* There are no humanitarians range restrictions.
* GDI is not available.

* Players can only form ingame alliances with other clan members.
* Research allies provide HALF the typical benefit to allied countries that have less than 20% of the TPT of the techer.
* Offensive ally military losses are impacted by their government attacking military loss modifier and medical tech.
* Offensive ally military losses are not impacted by the SS penalty for attacking military losses.
* FA packages cannot be sent.
* NPC countries would use the latest code ("express style") and would not be able to get allies.

* The daily spy op limit per country is 50 for dictatorships and 5 for all other governments.
* All information ops are allowed against other players.
* Espionage, Bomb Banks, Raid Food Stores, and Raid Oil Reserves are allowed against NPC countries and use the "express style" formulas
