seeing how IMP is a warring clan and PANLV was all netters, it isn't that hard to take them out. i think it's funny though how IMP gets all big chested because they took out a clan made up of all rep cashers, got the FS, and the opposing clan rarely had any warchats.

i think the recall goods option has a factor into the drop too. people are trying to get their tech to sell, and the easiest way to get stuck tech off the market is to recall and sell again cheaper. prices have just dropped drastically with about a month left the last two sets. there have only been three sets now so i can't really say if it is a sure pattern. take it as you will.

tech has dropped around now the last two sets. the first set it spiked after a week of low prices, but last set it didn't rebound as much. i know you were not around this time last set, at least as far as i know, so i hope that helps.

lol, raz the top 10 destroyer. nah, but im not really that mad about it man. if it were in the middle of the set and i was still working on the country i would have probably been a bit upset, but in my eyes i still finished the set out and that is all that really matters. plus the country stands out more now when people look at it, so that means it is the super winner.

yep, this is just a text based game and that is all. some people take it more seriously then others. you can't fault them for that, i know i get super pissed when i lose at monopoly. im the monopoly king! lol

yeah, im not really sure what the point of that was seeing how you were all in game messaging me being all buddy buddy. shows real character man. i don't even know you and you feel you need to kill my country? i thought we were actually shooting the fluff about our countries, but i guess i was wrong.

edit: on a side note, im not going to get all bent out of shape and try and be all tough and get in a flamming war. i saw your other post on why you did it, and even though i messaged you in game saying " no one is going to take my one country tag anw seriously. tse has anw in my book " you still killed it. yeah, i did have 0 spies and the sdi was fluffty at that point because i sold all of it, so i guess that is my fault. it is a war game and that is just the way the set played out. im a pretty mild person and at that point in the day i was one shot and two beers into the night. plus the country still shows up in the previous resets, so :P

yeah, it does add the whole fa and diplomacy into the game for sure if you go around grabbing people, but in the same sense those exact things cause players to leave. how many people do you know have quit because of suiciders, stupid wars, or things of that nature.

as for driving players away, i really think farming new players into the ground has more impact on driving people away then people that self farm. new people would most likely see people that self farm, and would want to learn how to do it efficiently. again, if we had 10k plus countries self farming would really be an easy cop out, but with 3k and less the only thing you are asking for when you lg is for trouble. there aren't that many clans right now, and if you go around hitting people you are just asking for war, and when you are a hardcore tree hugger that really is something you try and avoid. when, and if, we get more players to the game i'm sure you will see less and less self farming just because more land will be available.

i agree with you there dragon, but that is what the alliance server is for. i really see this server as lets see what i can do with 15 countries, which is a totally different mind set then the way i run my country in alliance.

to each there own though, and im glad you see where im coming from. to be honest, i don't think many people consider ffa a place where ' elite netters ' prove their skills. we are like the little red headed step child that everyone loves to hate ;]

i agree with you in that aspect man, but the people that are land grabbing don't always get retaled. that usually only happens when the person is in a legitimately sized clan that has retallers. im sure if you farm the crap out of untags and small clans the most you get is some missiles, ab attacks, and maybe a couple retal attempts.

the main reason you see such countries this set is because of pacts, not because people couldn't hit those countries. i really think the political scene is going to be a bit different after the way this set turned out. the only reason those countries got away with such extreme farming was because they were in lae, and lae had the numbers to do what ever they wanted. i have a gut feeling there is going to be much more balance next set with members in other clans.

i get what your trying to say that people that lg other countries do pay more, and sometimes lose some of the land they took, but i really think it is going to be much easier to hit those super fatties next set if they are around because i don't think there really is going to be ONE clan that runs the server.

that is the only reason the super fatties exist, tag protection. it has been said by others i know, but when you do have a clan big enough to pretty much cripple and then tag kill in a day or two if you piss them off, you are going to get a pretty nice golden ride for a bit. i think that golden ticket may have expired this set.

on a side note, what is to stop you from hitting the self farmers for all that juicy land? i know you aren't playing this set, but imagine you were and lae wasn't a powerhouse that would just tag kill your clan because you got a little feisty and took some decent land off one of their fatties.

i wasn't going to comment on this post since self farming has been beat to death so much since ffa came back i think the poor horse is all looking like a mc donalds hamburger.

i really don't get why all the warring clans are getting all pissed at the people that self farm. just like it was stated by other people, it really does keep the fa issues to a minimum, and the people that actually do land grab have more targets. for the no skill part, this is ffa and not alliance. we have 15 countries in this server, and that is what makes this server so damn fun. you should be able to do what ever the hell you want with your countries, and if you feel you could do better then some of the people with ridiculous acres, prove it...

i am not one of those people with 200k + acres, but i have self farmed a bit this set. i managed a damn good finish without going to the super SUPER fatty mode, and am totally fine with that. i am only losing to 1 of the SUPER fatties right now, and i am ok with that too. i have learned a lot this second round, and really don't fear those huge countries next set. it is all about overcoming and adapting in my opinion.

edit: i could totally understand the people against self farming if ffa was the way it used to be with 10K plus countries, but that isn't the case anymore. if self farming gets messed with by the admins, this server is going to turn into another alliance type setting of farming small tags, and camping untags for dr to return.

not everyone has that time on their hands, and EVERYONE knows that all xp will never compete with a good grabber. self farming gives people that don't have all day to camp targets a chance to compete with people that can sit in front of their PC and do nothing but camp.

i posted something in the bugs forum, but i think when you buy the last of something at a certain price the last sale isn't occurring. my last news said i have 19 mil left on the market, but when i go to the sell good screen there is nothing for sale.

I think there is a bug in FFA when you clear out food. if you buy the remaining amount on it you get the message You purchased 0 Bushels, for $0. at first i thought it was just because someone else bought the food, but then it happened again. i had some food that i bought and when i got to the last 19 mil and bought it i received that message. my country with the food for sale didn't get the profit.

let me know if you need any more information, or if this just doesn't make sense.

Edit: it isn't just food. i bought the last 400k turrets and got the same thing. i think a lot of people are going to lose money if this doesn't get addressed.

Edit 2: it just isn't ffa. i bought the last 2 mil food at 44 in alliance and received the same thing.

i have to agree with colbalt, just because a hand full of people in the leadership got caught cheating, doesn't mean that the left over countries efforts should not mean anything. i myself hope to have a pretty decent finish, and had nothing to do with the cheating in the clan. the only thing i got out of being in lae is good tag protection and a pretty nice way to track my countries.

that would provide for an interesting set for sure. i think the larger clans would have a slight edge though just due to numbers.

i think it should be removed for at least a set to see how it pans out. there are lots of scenarios being presented here, but like llaar said we won't really know for sure until it actually happens. it would definitely bring some change to the game.

i say remove it, but make it as it is in express. the corruption rate definitely makes people have to stock because if you don't after the 2 bil mark you lose a lot of cash each turn. i don't agree that it would make the tmbr bad either, if anything it would give it a little bump since they wouldn't have to worry about selling too much military to go over the limit, and since you don't really use turns at that point they don't suffer.
