I am not in SOL leadership anymore and maybe there was a mess up with the news... I looked at it and agree you have taken alot of hits from SOL... LCN, Omega, LAF and others and chose to only retal SOL.
I just have one question. Why did you attack a SOL country with two PS attacks as a retal when that country never hit you? I can understand you being upset with the number of attacks that 2 or 3 other SOL countries made on you and I certainly don't think those countries should have been supported. However, when you chose to retal an Alliance for an individual countries actions that does seem to cause problems. (this is what I can see happened from the news and am just curious)

Has the Alliance game changed so much that SOL is the only Alliance that members can post a retal and anyone in the alliance can retal that hit?

Its pretty basic. You hit a SOL country and either that country or another will hit you. I would have less of a problem with it if there would have been retals on the other alliances that had alot more hits on his country.

If the game has changed so that all alliances only allow the member hit to do the retal themselves, then I would not be opposed to SOL doing the same policy. But from what I have seen, that is not the case. In looking at the news the alliances just about all have different countries doing the retals other than the country that got hit first.

Like I said, I am just trying to understand and at the same time be fair in my comments. But if you post a reason that doesn't make sense or is not how the alliance game is played that doesn't help.

Norcal I specifically retalled the country who hit me after i contaced the SoL FA explaining i had 30 mil bushels on hand and had the ability to take retals if hits on my country continued.

BTW all 393 hits made by Sol after my 3 retals went unchallenged. so you would need to explain to me how this equals me picking on SoL.

If you take the time to read the thread you will see that i let go of retals i was unable to take in the 72 hour window, considering I started midset and had my first country killed by accident by Rage ;)

Once in a position to retal as alliance were farming my country I contacted the various FA's and informed each of them ... SoL is the only alliance to decide they would just kill if retalled.

Thanks for the news. I did not go back far enough I guess. Still doesn't answer my question as to why all the other alliances who hit you way more than SOL did (total of 237 hits that you chose to not retal)were not retalled.

From what I see, there needs to be something done in the server to protect the untagged. I know things have changed in SOL over the years since I left, but when I was there we always held the same rules for untagged that we held for alliances. That eliminated alot of the farming.

One thing I did always look at though is if a country was grabbed alot and never did a retal, I always felt it was a landfarm. We would then add it to our farm list. If you had retalled previously it might not have gotten to the point that it did.

I would also suggest something else... at the start of your country if you plan to be untagged, talk to the SOL FA and explain that you are not someone's landfarm and you would like to play the game untagged. Ask for a DNH. SOL FA's are not that bad and hopefully if they realize it is a real person they might give you a DNH for the reset. Although, I would expect that they would watch and if it looked like you are a landfarm that might negate the DNH they give you.

Anyway, just a suggestion. Not sure what will happen because I have not talked to anyone in SOL about it. I am just going from the point of view that I would have.

I honestly can't explain the 393 hits after your "Retal". If you were on kill you wouldn't have lasted a day. My question was about the 237 hits prior to SOL hitting you that you chose not to retal.

Its the old argument of being fair verses being on an equal basis with the other alliances that farm the heck out of countries. I always went with fair and was always challenged on that!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to respectfully reply to me and I hope I have given you some ideas in the future... although I really don't understand why in an Alliance Game you would chose to go untagged!

Norcal i knew going in as untagged i would be farmed there was no illusion on my part about this fact. the alliance server has been this way for a very long time.

What i found was that as you mentioned contacting the various FA's and letting them know of your ability to retal, before ever taking a retal usually will get you a DNH. It keeps their members safe and keeps it fair for everyone involved.

I was not about to go out and contact FAs and tell them I had the ability to retal with a 3-day old country midset. However I did find my happy spot at about 2100 acres stocking 1.5-2 mill bushels a day and kept to myself. With the LCN v Rage/sol war going on the hits from other alliances were acceptable to a point.

Specifically when the ceasefire occurred the 3 alliance who had been in the war were land hungry. I understood this when i saw the hits suddenly increase on my country. However by this time I had about 25 mil bushels stocked.

I therefore took the time to contact each FA individually and explained the situation to each one of them. Those I did get ahold of did give me a DNH including Sanct and Rage LCN only doubled tapped me during this time period as did ICN a little later. I did leave a message for trife(LCN) and let the ICN double tap go.

I did get a hold of Praetor the SoL FA who acknowledged my right to retal, and even mentioned he would let the member know. I figured the case was closed. however a few days later the news posted above is what occurred. By this time I had gone from the 25 mil bushel to 27 mil bushel when I spoke to Praetor to 30 mil bushel when the SoL member decided i was his personal landfarm, like it or not. Why not he was at 4 mil net and I was at 440k net

I destocked took 3 retals and figured it would be the end of it I even sent a message to the player in game stating I was willing to let it all go and let things stand asis.

This thread was started when SoL decided to land kill my country for the 3 retals. Of course back then they denied this and said i was just a juicy landfarm they were taking advantage of. At that point I'm sure they stopped whatever kill-run they had going considering the public attention it was getting.

But then the dust settled and scrutiny was off, so they proceeded to finish what they started. Although I specifically was not a threat to them in anyway shape or form.

Rockman: I am not arguing that you kill untagged for following rules, I already stated that when I ran SOL, untagged had the right to use the same rules that SOL would use against them. That was then. The problem now is that all the Alliances seem to farm All the untagged countries and if an Alliance doesn't do the same they are at a big dissadvantage... or so goes the argument.

I have probably made 4 hits the entire game, been in three wars and have gotten 17k acres mostly by exploring. Personally, I don't see the benefit of farming countries. But as long s ALL alliances are going to do it, you can't expect one not to.

Prima: I referred to contacting the FA in the beginning stages of your country, not waiting for a problem to develop. I would think that if you contacted them and asked there might be a chance to get a game long DNH from the first day of the reset. I know if someone contacted me and we talked, I would have been inclined to do so... and have on many occassions. Of course, I am not in leadership in SOL and it is not up to me, it is only a suggestion.

That was 4 hits for Land... many hits during war!

She tried for a DNH, was denied because SOL doesn't give DNHs to untaggeds. Then they farmed her into the ground (one SOL guy hit her what, 65 times???), she got DNHs from everyone but SOL, and was killed the minute she started to take retals.

To say I'm disappointed in SOL's handling of the situation is the grandest of understatements. :p

Again I did contact Clans including yours to get the DNH from the clans hitting me unfortunately SoL made a different decision.

SoL also made the decision to continue to escalate this issue. Now we have a mutual understanding on how to hit each others countries.

Are you for some reason opposed to this mutually agreed upon solution? Obviously most of SoL and even its leadership seem to believe this solution is highly beneficial to SoL. You should contact SoL leadership so they can explain to you the fantastic benefits you will all be receiving from this amazing deal they worked out for all of you.

Calling suiciding whatever you want is still suiciding, going clanless as to avoid repercusions of your actions.. I fully support SOL's actions for better or worse, they point, I kill, wars are what I love about this game.. had to restart a 4th country this set. Playing untagged, regardless of what actions you take is suiciding. There is no difference between playing an all-explore or playing a country that ABs someone to the ground. Until alliances change their policies, untaggeds will have no incentive to wait around for an alliance to kill them, and they might as well do what harm they can before they die.

It is only the alliances which kill a country for retalling which deserve to be harmed. Alliances like PDM and Omega which won't provoke untaggeds, or even alliances like Evo and LaF which won't kill untaggeds but do farm them are very different from alliances like SoL and iMag which will kill untaggeds for retalling.

If every alliance was like PDM & Omega, playing an untagged would not be suiciding, thus untaggeds would have a reason to not farm & missile people.
